Campaign Coordinator: Area Suraksha Mitra

The Campaign Coordinator for the Area Suraksha Mitra project will spearhead the campaign strategy for setting up a systems-based solution for neighbourhood security and safety in a city. He/she will coordinate this effort with the Directorate of Home Guards & Civil Defence, and the City Police department. He/she will work to understand, and to effectively utilize Police and Civil Defence structures to deliver on common goals for the project. This will entail work on organizational development, mobilisation, training and deployment, tracking and evaluation of the project.

He/she will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the Area Suraksha Mitra project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

The position will coordinate day-to-day operations of the campaign - consultation and coordination with the Civil Defence and Police authorities, and relationship management with these institutions. In addition the Campaign Coordinator will facilitate building community networks of allied groups including Resident Welfare Associations, Community Based Organisations, and NGOs.

He/she will have to approve recruitment of resources for the project, and effectively guide team responsibilities. The Coordinator will organize and attend all relevant meetings and serve as the central administrative point for all campaign activities. She/he will oversee and give approvals for all vendor/agency briefing and delivery. Working with Finance and Administration, the Coordinator will set up, monitor and disseminate reports that track campaign activity.

Project management
Relationship management skills
Confident, articulate and creative communicator both verbally and in writing.
Excellent influencer with ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and externally.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and be able to ensure that others do so, experience of managing heavy workloads, ability to prioritise within a demanding environment.
Partnership building skills with various stakeholders
Prior experience in managing a team of 10-12 people
10-12 years experience in any industry
Knowledge of Kannada/Hindi will be good
Some knowledge of defense/ security/community mobilization/training will be an added asset

Travel
Ø Occasional domestic travel
Ø local travel as per project requirements

Time commitment
Ø Minimum 2 years

Remuneration
Ø Will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
